New Web Portal Launched along with HART Itself

A new day, a new era, a new web site – all on July 1. The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) board of directors launched itself formally this morning with its inaugural meeting and a full agenda.

That document and dozens of others are available today on the new and improved Honolulu Rail Transit website. Click on Document Library in the menu bar on the home page and the whole project opens up – the EIS Process, Finances, Maps, the Programmatic Agreement, Traffic Updates and, of course, the Transit Authority itself.

Click the Authority link and you find today’s meeting agenda and a summary of the Transit Authority Charter Amendment Question that voters approved last November. Click Maps and you can access seven of them. All documents can be downloaded as PDFs.

Reporters are tweeting from the HART board meeting with updates. Decisions so far include the selection of former City Corporate Counsel Carrie Okinaga as chairwoman and Ivan Lui-Kwan as vice chair. Toru Hamayasu was named interim executive director. A nation-wide search will be conducted to fill the post permanently.
